On May 4, the Egyptian Fashion & Design Council (EFDC) hosted an exclusive reception celebrating the Council’s continued growth and its mission to elevate Egypt’s fashion and design industry locally and internationally. The evening brought together industry leaders, creatives, diplomats, partners, and supporters to recognize the collaborations driving the sector forward.

During the event, EFDC officially introduced its new Advisory Board, International Ambassadors, and Committee Members across key focus areas including Business Development, Education, Sustainability, PR & Communication, Young Designers, and Design & Craft — reinforcing the Council’s commitment to innovation, emerging talent, and sustainable industry growth.

Among the many distinguished guests, EFDC founding board members Marie Louis Bishara and Susan Sabet welcomed The ambassadors of India and Austria, Mr.Wali Dolaty Tameer Development, Egypt Cotton Director Khaled Schuman, Mr & Mrs.Ihab Gohar, Animation, Mrs.Ola Al Dajani, Tiye Angels, Mrs.Piera Solinas, Filmar, Mrs.Marianne Hesni, Hesni Textiles, Mrs.Sara Berlese, UNIDO Cotton program, BU director Dr Ahmed El Seragy and consultants May Salama, Soraya Bahgat and Nassim Touil.
The Council also unveiled its 2026 roadmap, including upcoming international collaborations, the 3rd edition of Egypt Fashion Week taking place November 12–15, 2026, and the latest edition of the Egypt Fashion Awards in partnership with the British Council, offering winners specialized courses at London College of Fashion.
The evening reflected EFDC’s ongoing vision to position Egyptian creativity as a global benchmark for excellence, heritage, and innovation while strengthening Egypt’s presence in the international fashion and design landscape.
