On November 18th the EFDC hosted a panel talk titled “The Ups & Downs of Starting a Fashion Business” . Co-hosted by Marakez at The Park of Mall of Arabia, over 70 fashion students and emerging designers came to listen to the expert advice of Aida Zayed, Director of the FDC – Fashion Design Center, Amina Khalil, Founder & Designer of Amina K., Anne Marie Kirollos, Founder & Designer of Tiy, Fadi Antaki, CEO A-15, Fatma Ghaly, CEO Azza Fahmy, Mayssa Wasif, Consultant, Mohamed Zaher Lawyer Zaki Hashem & Partners, Paul Antaki CEO Consolidated Retail. The talks moderated by EFDC Board member Susan Sabet touched all stages of building a sustainable fashion business from education, to the legal aspect, financing, product & market research, design, sourcing & production, management and retail as well as marketing.
